Are you sure? It didn't seem to have shifted a copy whenever I checked. Sure lots of them haven't just been sent back ... ?

I know that sounds horribly pessimistic and I hope it did well, but I didn't notice the stack going down at all. But I imagine people looking for it would have been checking the comics rather than the sports magazines section.

Steel Claw is just joshing with the group Raven.

RotR can't sell more copies than it had printed. ;-)

Oh, I know he was joshing about the million copies, the steel clawed scallywag. If only a fraction of that were published and sold! It's just that it does seem to have disappeared from the shops now and I wondered if the basic idea that it had 'sold out' was a genuine optimistic interpretation of its disappearance!

Hmmm,so I've been duped,it would seem! Even though I have no interest in sport,I felt it augured well for a possible renaissance in comics publishing. Still,I'm hopeful as ever.

The RotR special has sold well in my local Smiths, so if it's the same across the UK I'm sure it'll inspire Egmont to do something about it. (No publisher would risk printing a million copies of a comic today though. )

I think the RotR comic is supposed to be on the shelves until late June, when the Battle one replaces it, so if it's no longer in your branch it hopefully means it is sold out. (I wouldn't have thought WHS would have removed it from sale after just three weeks.)

The pile in the W H Smith's in central Newcastle is still there and looks about the same size pile as when it started. I certainly didn't decrease it by one. RotR circa the 1980's just doesn't do it for me.

Drat, I did not realise only ROTR was out at this point in time. I looked all over Smith's for the Misty one (The only one I intend to get).

Phil, did not realise you were in Stoke. I am just along the road in Cheddleton.

You'll have a long search. They're not all coming out together. RotR was published 1st April. The next one is Battle, out on 24th June, Buster (16th Sept) and Misty (9th December).

The stack of RotR in my local WH Smith (in Arnold) diminished over the last couple of weeks, and has now reappeared in a much better position, with more copies than ever. WH Smith must have ordered some extra copies here I reckon.

I think sticking to one outlet while making good business sense does not provide complete saturation.I believe bookstores like Waterstones with perhaps a promo dump of Roy would be a good idea.Impulse buys and all that.

The Cap.

p.s. Maybe then it might reach a million sales.Which all things considered would have been a feat back in comics heyday!
