I reckon theirs Buster and Buster Monster fun specials going right back to the 1970's we just have discovered them yet.
There are. The Specials page includes a 1977 one.
Digi as you can see I wrote Buster and Buster Monster fun specials.
1977 only includes a 1977 Buster & Monster Fun and not a Buster as well,

So like when the first Buster & Monster Fun from 1977 appeared their might be a Buster as well and vice versa where theirs just a Buster Holiday special listed.

That is correct. The issue is whether one of the Buster (without Monster Fun) specials on the Specials page should in fact not be 1984, and I would still refer back to Al to check the dates inside...

As many of you who follow the results of Compal postal auctions probably know, a combo consisting of the 1969 Beano Summer Special, original Dudley Watkins cover artwork for the Special and a copy of Beano issue 1406 (June 28th 1969) promoting the Special was bid to £3410 - a new record?

That high price is because of the original artwork, no doubt about it.

There was a seperate cover on the back page of the special: part 2 of the cover gag. I wonder if this came as part of the package?

This Summer Special was within my grasp on e-bay just last night: sadly, I was gazzumped at the last second by another shrewd mover.

...Maybe it's just me but the sight of a 1/6d price tag sets my pulse racing in a way that a 10p one never could! :)

Just to clarify - it was the artwork for the front cover of Beano No.1406 from 1969 that was sold. The Biffo story promoted that year's Summer Special, including a mini reproduction of the cover - hence the inclusion of both the comic and the special in the package.
