That's a peculiar thing for the Dandy to do, but (also judging by the presence of Smasher) it looks like a superficial attempt to cash in on the bandwagon rather than actually publish an entire book about Dennis.
With any luck, it won't be mostly full-size reprinted stories from annuals like last year's Heroes was.
Who thought up the "Gift Book" name, anyway? Amazon?
Help! Help! We're being held prisoner in a signature factory!
There's no trace of any Broons and Oor Wullie collection on Amazon, but waterstones have this "Broons and Ow Gift Book". It's release date is 12th September, same as the Beano/Dandy Dennis one (which is also called "Gift Book" on amazon).
edited to add - searching the ISBN from the waterstones listing on amazon shows the book up...for some reason it didn't appear when i searched before...odd
I've seen the Broons and Oor Wullie 75 year book today..its very good flicking through...it has a reproduction of the first Sunday post in full...examples of Dudleys other comic work..it is in the era 1936-to early 40's..
also it has some busy pictures which were in the Sunday post suppliment which is throughout the book.a kind of Caseys court But not in one area..
will be getting it a bit later..
Its in Waterstones now..well in Guildford Waterstones

a lot of web sites or stores have certain stock a few weeks in advance so i suspect they sent it out early to ensure it gets to australia on or around the oficial release date.i have received dvds from hmv on the sat before the official monday release date
Got the Dandy Annual today with my own money (Mum brought the Beano Annual for Christmas!), very good stuff in there, my favourite story had to be either Laura's Bully Beef and Chips or Nigel's Corporal Clott, both very funny and good 'up to date' versions of much-missed characters!
It was lovely seeing some of the classics back again, Steve Beckett drawing Brain Duane, Nik Holmes drawing Fiddle O'Diddle, Nigel Auchterlounie drawing Puss 'n' Boots, Karl Dixon drawing Beryl the Peril, Nick Brennan drawing Brassneck and of course David Mostyn back with an amazing Strange Hill School!
I have just found out what will be included in the Beano and Dandy gift pack.
This years book also includes a reproduction copy of the first Beano to include Dennis, as well as a DVD featuring highlights from the Beano Characters shows on TV.

I had a feeling the first issue to feature Dennis would have been included, but the DVD's a bonus. (and it's selling at a discount as well)
and looking at the same site, shows what's in the Broons & Oor Wullie gift book too...it's a CD of Broons music (recorded especially for this pack) and an Oor Wullie Calender (they usually just produce a Broons one).
