Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?

Hmm, I have that Dandy, will have to find it to compare the two versions of the strip. I assume dialogue was changed to remove mention of the tongue being a Dandy free gift.

There's rewritten/added captions in the Beano's Bananaman too, for instance one that mentions Google, they didn't have that in the 80's!
Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
That one was probably added, rather than replacing anything. It did fill a blank space in the artwork.

Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
I know criticism is frowned upon on this forum, and so the following post is likely to be a bad idea. After all, heaven forbid that a British comic might not be entirely lovely and wonderful and perfect after all.
But I don't care - I'm furious, and proud of it.
I could tolerate Harry Hill's presence, as generally, the strips were well-written and funny enough to take the edge off all the annoying reality TV wannabes which were shoehorned in at the slightest excuse.
Little D-List was a different matter altogether.
And now it's the official replacement for Harry Hill?
The strip wasn't even any good! It wasn't celebrities ameliorated with sharp writing and a machine-gun patter of amusing one-liners, it was just celebrities jumping around being celebrities and doing annoying celebrity things in their braindead celebrity way.
It was stupid, unfunny, boring, undeserving of the first strip spot, insulting, and, worst, a massive letdown after all the Dandy's done recently.
Imagine what Nigel Parkinson could have been drawing instead of this dreck?
Actually, I don't need to imagine - there's four pages of Cuddles and Dimples reprints right there. Yes, it's a feeble cover-up, having originally been written to advertise a now non-existent free gift, and it's a massive four pages of reprint which sticks out like a sore thumb in a comic where two pages used to be exceptional, but it's also good, and a stark reminder of the quality which is absent from Celeb School.
Phil's Finger made an unabashed comeback as Cheryl's Mole, not just shoving how much the Dandy doesn't care in our faces, but mutating the original concept into something which was even more of a naked excuse to print pictures of celebrities, with even the small amount of non-celeb content stripped out.
I fear something similar's happened with Harry Hill and Celeb School.
Let's hope it gets cancelled after three weeks, eh?

Help! Help! We're being held prisoner in a signature factory!

I like Celeb School and cannot see why you can't have a little celeb content. I agree that you don't want to swamp the comic but one strip doesn't cause any harm.
BTW: I see that the logo has reverted back. I prefer it.

Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).

I definitely agree about the logo, its more classic and stands out better on the shop shelves.
It's been a good couple of weeks for the covers with The Beano reverting to a more classic design and The Dandy bringing back its old logo.
