There was an index for the Beezer it's currently up for sale on ebay.

Not sure if it covers the whole life of the comic though.

If it was published after 1993, it'll cover everything except the last few Summer Specials and Annuals. The author is a Comics UK member, Kashgar.

I know of indexes for the Beano, Dandy, Beezer and Topper. Was there ever one for Nutty or Sparky (although I think the Sparky file counts as an Index).

The bedstead one is one i've never seen before it is amazing..also completly zany.....don't know the artist for that one..

A kind of Disney's Bedknobs and broomsticks and the last panel had a bit of E.T to it..

also loved the writing for Pop, Dick and Harry..Banana Bunch baffling the doctors witha balloon head ...they were very funny in those days..

Don't think so. That's why the Sparky one was done as an online download years later. Would've been no need if Ray had already published one. Also (shameless plug), I have an online guide to the Beano and Dandy comic libraries and other spin-offs (Fun-Sizes, Specials, and Superstars), but that's still incomplete.

Hornet Wilson reminds me of Andy's Ants..or Adam and his ants..the beauty of this strip is they can fly and so do more things..its just lovely seeing something new.

I will definetly get one of those beezer index books if there is any left in 2 weeks time,i would also love to get the other index books and the buster one,the only trouble is every time i read a book like that it makes me want to get all those comics.

Here comes another one from the collection.

I recently bought a 1959 Topper, and frankly is a little bit on the "precious" side (meaning it's not in the best possible condition.)

I have a double serving of Smart Art and Captain Bungle from the Topper, issue dated 24/1/59

As a general rule, when giving statistical details or explanatory information that is not widely known, it is only standard courtesy to acknowledge one's sources. I mention it here because your very specific stats about the Smart Art and Captain Bungle strips do seem to have been sourced from Ray Moore's seminal index Topper Tales and, if this is the case, I think you should have said so.

Nice selection of strips, blaing! Phoenix: most seasoned comics fans ought to have recognized the work of Drysdale and Martin: I know I did! Surely Blaing could do this too........

But yes, the first appearance dates etc probably came from Kashgars' book [I reckon?]

The material is definately from Kashgars book, and any future strips from the Topper (or the Beezer as I recently received the Book of the Beezer) that are obscure, I'll certainly credit him (I also do that on the "About the blog" page of my own blog.)

I would have guessed that Smart Art episode was one of George Drysdale - very different style from Mr Martin!
