Now that's funny. Perhaps The Beano ought to be mining vigorously that kind of cause and effect situation humour.matrix wrote:Apparently, Erickson and another band member were so out of it on the above that they were found waiting in line to buy tickets for their own concert.

It's quite gratifying to learn, Steve, that your eBay username is as close to your heart as my comicsuk username is to me. As for the song, though, I'm struggling to make much sense of it. Have I just not had enough mind-altering substances?stevezodiac wrote:These lyrics from Slip Inside This House by the 13th Floor Elevators should answer that - one of my favourite songs ever.

Or, to put it another way: no.

Shame they mixed his story up. Dinosaurs were an opponent of Strang the Terrible, not Morgyn. Probably got mixed up because both strongmen were in early Beanos.Peter Gray wrote:Morgyn the mighty in Nuke Noodle...I do love old characters making an appearance and part of the story..

I think it's time we all accepted that the amount of deep and sincere analysis which can sensibly be performed on Alexander Matthews' scripts is severely limited.Digifiend wrote:Shame they mixed his story up. They did reprint some of Strang's stories as Morgyn the mighty strips though as this thread demonstrates. The characters are pretty much identical anyway and so are a number of other strongmen characters from the Beano, such as the one in The Shipwrecked Circus but those can't be reprinted as Morgyn the Mighty stories because of the additional characters.Digifiend wrote:Shame they mixed his story up. Also out anytime now is the new Dandy Annual which, according to Lew's blog, should feature his version of yet another revived character - Julius Sneezer. For anyone who's not seen Allan Morley's original version of this classic Dandy strip before here's an example from the 1949 Dandy Monster Comic:

...A case of 'he came, he saw, he conk-ered' I guess!

I am reminded about a comment on the Henry VIII and his 6 zombie wives episode of Nuke I received, about it not being historically accurate because one of his wives outlived him....

Re: This weeks Dandy
Julius Sneezer must be a difficult strip to write - the subject, a sneezing Roman Emperor, would have me scratching my head for a plot. Lew would be excused for updating old scripts. Mind you a girl looking through keyholes ran for decades.
