Weren't TV21 comics re-released in the 80's ?

I faintly recall this - shame no-one could scan them and post them on some newsgroups....

Great. You could then help pay their fine when they get sued for copyright theft.

TV Century 21 (later simplified to TV21) was published 1965 to 1971.

You may be thinking of a fan project called Action 21, published by Englale, which reprinted some of the TV21 strips. Your best bet is to go to comic marts etc for back issues.

I do know that during the early 1990,s there was a Thunderbirds comic which reprinted Frank Bellamy's strips alongside some new material, this was followed by Stingray and Captain Scarlet. I collected the Thinderbirds issues and also picked up a few of the others..they were all distributed to Newsagents. Thunderbirds was on TV again and Blue Peter was showing children 'how to make' Tracy island so it made sense to launch a reprint Comic.

If you?ve got a branch of The Works near you, have a browse around in the kids section and you might find a copy of the collected Thunderbirds and Lady Penelope strips from TV21 for ?3/4.

It?s filled out with reproduced adverts for the records, toys etc from the sixties. The only downside is some of the speech balloons tend to vanish down the gutter of the book as they were originally printed across the centre pages of the comics

If you're in Blackpool, Thunderbooks is a good place to look for back issues of Action 21.

That would be interesting.
All I'm after is just to read them again - hell I doubt I was school age when I read them originally.
The Fireball XL5 stories too. Hated the TV prog, and remember it (faintly) as an excellent comic.

Oh and to the person on about copyright theft - those who tend to preach such tend to have bigger collection of "illegal" scans of what they're lecturing about than those being lectured to in my experience.

Then your experience is of very shady characters.

I only posted the comment in humour, hence the winky emoticon. But if you want to get nasty about it: I don't need illegal scans of TV21. I have the originals.

You were asking someone to risk being done for copyright infringement by posting scans onto a newsgroup. If the rest of us have bought our back issues by legitimate means then why should anyone help out a scrounger with a bad attitude? Myself and others provided you with the information on where to find reprints of the strips so put your hand in your pocket and buy them yourself like the rest of us were happy to do.
