Re: What comics did you buy today?
As of now, I have only six issues to get (one from 1965, two from 1966 and three from 1967 to go, with a single better issue wanted from the years 1965, 1969 and 1972)
I am awaiting an issue from 1966 which I purchased before Christmas which is due in the next couple of days (either today, or early next week, today being the last mail day this week due to the scheduled post office holiday on Friday)

What is it you like about SPARKY then Blaing? I am delighted you are enthusiastic by the way........the first 4 years of the comic were very old fashioned compared to the later stuff.......even at the time the comic looked a bit odd compared to the other 4 funnies DCT were putting out then....I think it had something though!

Currently holidaying in the north east of England. Got a Fantastic Four pocket book from Newcastle and a couple of Roy of the Rovers annuals from Hexham.

An update to my earlier post.
My recent Sparky purchase was sent through eBay's new international expedited delivery (which includes online tracking), and I just checked, The parcel is now waiting to be picked up from the post office this morning.
Irmantas, have you tried this service yet?

Went in WHSMITH and bought---
Classic OOR WULLIE and the BROONS Hollywood Heroes! In full colour for the first time ever!
I have glanced through this book on previous visits to Smiths and thought this is a book I would like to own.I like the fact that it is in full colour.Decided that with the price down to £1.99p now was the time to buy.Would also have liked to have bought the Classic Beano and Dandy but it looks like they had sold out of that one weeks ago.Noticed they have the classic Beano/Dandy in Waterstone's but it doesn't look as though they will budge on the RRP price.Just have to wait on that one .

My last purchase of 2014 was 'super animal adventure squad' in the lovely hardback reprint volumes from the DFC, a complete bargain at 50p (was £9.99 when released in 2011).

My last comic purchase of 2014
The Beano Annual 2015 from Morrisons for £1.98 starring that villainous turncoat - Bananaman.
Good read.
Good read.
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).
Re: What comics did you buy today?
^Bananaman likely won't be the last turncoat. Beano and Dandy brought back quite a few Beezer and Topper characters in the past 22 years. Stands to reason that the same will be true with Dandy characters in the future.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
You are more than likely right, Digi and there has been evidence in Dennis and Gnasher's magazine.
If they do, it would be interesting who.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Took my Xmas vouchers to town today, with the intention of getting the Beano and Dandy annuals and the Viz book of adventure. All three of those were sold out in WH Smith's!
Sold my voucher to a friend (who got some magazines with it), and went down the road to Waterstone's instead. They had the Beano annual (£3.99), but not the other two, so got The Best of Wonder Warthog by Gilbert Shelton instead. Happy medium!
