I had a look at Twisted Nerve on youtube and was surprised to see Hywell Bennett whistling Daryll Hannah's nurse tune from Kill Bill vol. 1. Its about 12.30 into the film.

According to Wikipedia, the Twisted Nerve theme written by Bernard Herrmann and whistled by Martin/Georgie in the film, has been used in a number of later movies including, as you mention, Kill Bill Vol 1. I was going to post a link to the relevant Kill Bill clip on Youtube but it may not be suitable for those with a delicate constitution.

Yeah, I suspect it is a mockup - looking at other issues from that period (1954-5 is rather unrepresented on Comic Vine) that space should contain several smaller panels, not one big one.

It appears to be vol 5, number 30 from July 1954. The year is right for the Baden Powell strip so it looks like they just changed part of the front cover.

It looks like Donald and Mickey or Mickey Mouse or whatever IPC's Disney comic was called in 1976.

Yes, what Lew said. That coloured border is a giveaway, as is the pic of Donald at the bottom right in the 1st picture. Could the story be The Three Pigs?

Engrossed in a copy of Mystery In Space is Sheila Hancock as Carole, during a 1962 episode of The Rag Trade.

From Lady Godiva Rides Again (don't get excited - it was made in 1951, you don't see a thing) - Stanley Holloway has an Eagle prominently displayed at the front of his newsagents shop. Can't quite make out the comic on the opening door in this shot.



But when the action moves inside (probably a studio set - I think the external scene was shot on location) we can see what looks - to me, anyway - like an Illustrated Chips on the door, and I think that's a Dandy at the bottom of the rack on the right.



During a scene set in a room behind the shop, there's mention of a customer just having bought a 'Beano comic'.

There's two Eagles on that door - the one in front is issue 46 with issue 38 behind.

Yeah, those comics are Illustrated Chips and The Dandy. The Chips masthead seems to match this one.
