Yes, those appeared in The Guardian. I should really have cut every instalment out. Are they now in book form?

Yes indeed, and I believe they are steady sellers.

That's the final issue I think. The strips are self contained, there's no 'next issue' page and the back issue ad for issues 1 and 2 encourages readers to collect the set.

I would have thought they would have kept it going due to the fact a solo wonder woman film coming. but the wonder woman in superman v batman was no Linda carter

Comics are a business. No point in keeping it going if it wasn't selling as hoped. Other than Batman, DC characters aren't an easy thing to sell to the British public. Supergirl is also cancelled. Perhaps they'll revive a WW comic next year when the movie comes out.

Yes, they exist as graphic novels :) A movie was even made from 'Tamara Drew' but I thought it was kind of dumbed down and predictable compared to the comics.

Everytime i go in whs i see piles of the dc and marvel reprint comics no one ever seems to buy them but i do see people standing there reading them.it's a shame because i do miss the days when you could go in any newsagent and see piles of dc and marvel on the shelves a few months after the comic shops had them in and these reprints are the next best thing i suppose. Can anyone remember why the sweet shops stopped selling them and when?

Early nineties I think. Not sure why newsagents stopped having American comics. The UK reprints are on better paper and better value anyway.

As for the Panini and Titan comics, if your branch of Smiths is anything like mine they'll replenish the stocks as they sell with more from the stockroom. I overheard staff at my branch saying how well the Panini comics sell.

As I'm sure Lew knows, US comics changed from sale-or-return to direct sales (i.e. you buy them in and that's it. There's no return). I think it was a colossal mistake long-term (but very lucrative short-term). So, these distributors were not the ones non-comic shops dealt with, nor was it the usual model. Panini, however, are still S-O-R.

"Gemma Bovery" has also been filmed. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2788556/
Is it weird to have no interest in keeping or collecting free gifts?

Received the "aggro" issue of Action this week, completing my run of the pre-ban issues. (Except for the ultra-rare one that was never circulated but I'm not paying £1000 plus for that. :))

Also received the first year of Battle Picture Weekly, when it was fresh and good. Some damaged issues though with pages missing so negotiated a part refund and have bought replacements from other sellers.

As I said before, I pretty much have all the old comics I was after now but I'm sure the odd one or two will still interest me enough to buy them.

Today i got 4 latest commando's.judge dredd,2000ad,Viz.i bought the new edition of the empire strikes back comic though why its had to be dumed down for younger readers ill never know they could have just reprinted the original, still can't believe i seem to have missed the star wars one as return of the jedi is out on 1st june.i never saw it all in whs. Alo the hardback graphic novel of kick ass 3 but cant help thinking i could have got a nice set of old comics on ebay for the money i spent as today's comics are too expensive especially Judge Dredd which 2000ad said the judge dredd story continues in but its a new parallel story and doesn't really need to be read.
