I think it's being updated right now! I just got an error 404!

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.
EDIT: Countdown clock is back up, someone must've messed up when updating the database. I found this in the code.

Code: Select all

////////////OVERWRITE OPTIONS HERE///////////////////////
    var options = {
        iDate: [2012, 12, 04, 0, 0],
        timeZone: +0,
        SkinName: 'wild-west.png',
        msg: ['ARE YOU READY!!!', 'red', '170%', 'Trebuchet MS']
    };
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
wild-west.png is the countdown clock's graphics file. It seems that when it gets to zero, it'll be replaced with
ARE YOU READY!!!
in Trebuchet type.

I can access the new webpage but cannot create a login. Also, existing subscribers should be getting instructions emailed to them but I assume that this won't happen until later on today (4th).

To be honest, I am not sure what I think of it at the moment.

Huh? I was able to register no problem, though you can't do anything with it right now. Issue Zero, a preview issue, is available now. I hope that wasn't all the roster, as the only character mentioned on the site who isn't in issue zero is Blinky, and the content looked like it would only fill about a third of an issue if it was in print - and that's if the strips were actually complete, which they're not.

Check out Keyhole Kate's character page. Her school is called Morley High. As in Allen Morley, her original artist! But she's not just a nosey parker now. Seems to be some sort of mystery. Mr X turned out to be part of an ensemble in a story called Retro Active. The preview issue only shows him on the front cover, and it looks like he isn't the main character. Brassneck's character page shows that that strip also has a villain. He also has new powers. Looking at Dan's description, he's gone right back to how he started out. Total reboot. The Numskulls is nothing like either the Beano or Beezer versions. None of the characters in that story are the same as in previous versions at all.

It seems to be starting at iss 0 on the web site & from the cover it looks like to me anyway the art for bananaman,brassneck , & desperate dan looks much better than the current ins carnations much closer looking to the originals which us oldies will prob appreciate more and keyhole kate looks more modern looking & the numbskulls look to be a baby does this mean it will end in the beano.i still prefer the man version of numbskulls myself lol

Sadly it doesn't work very well on my iPhone. Really slow and buggy.
Was hoping for more comic strips.

Yes I know I'm not the target audience but I doubt a kid would have the patience to wait for the comic strips to animate.

Well The Dandy is dead long live The Dandy, Registered & have had a good look through. I'm very much impressed with what they have done here & the potential here is massive. This is a different beast to our beloved paper copy & we all need to realise that, try not to compare it & look at the potential here. From the sound of it there is much more to be added & if it can build a big audience then who knows it may allow for a new companion print version to rise again. Well done DCT... :D

Have to agree with it being too slow and buggy. A lot of potential but it is nowhere near the release stage in my opinion. I would be astonished if this attracted subscribers in their thousands.
