I picked up the 1967 Wham annual from a market today, for £3. I wasn't expecting to see it at all, but I certainly wasn't expecting the 1977 Beano annual on the same stall (which I didn't get) to be twice the price! I think it was a fairly good buy since it contains some great Frankie Stien strips.

I won some Alan Cass comics yesterday on eBay, looking forward to getting them as you never know what gem has been reprinted in them, these comics always remind me of summer holidays at British seaside resorts as these were the best place to get them , many a holiday spending money has gone on the comic spinner racks in a Yarmouth or Clacton newsagent. For some reason the seaside town I have lived in since the mid sixties never got Alan cass comics but loads of DC comics etc .
:offtopic2: good film on tv called hue and cry about a comic strip in the forties being using by crooks

£6 for a 1970s Beano annual? Can't blame you for leaving that behind. I've picked up a few from that era and it's usually only a pound or two, certainly not more than three. They're not rare at all.

A number of Buster comics from 1968-1986 from 30th Century comics. Now only need about 42 from this period to complete. Also won a number of Cor collections on ebay yesterday. Decent value for over 100 comics.

Two issues of Electric Soup and an issue of Sboncyn arrived this morning. Should've tried to get an Irish and an English comic too, just to make up a set!

On Thursday I got the Beezer Book 1976 for £6 (some writing, but otherwise great condition - Tom Bannister Tom Dick and Harry cover, but he only drew Colonel Blink inside - Pete Moonie seems to have drawn half of the book, including Little Mo and Tom Dick and Harry!) together with Alex 1987-1992 and 2005.

Yesterday I nearly got a Beezer Book 1963 in poor condition, but even at £2 I decided not to bother. I did however buy about a dozen 1981 Dandys.

Another Birthday Week issue bought today, and it's Eagle Volume 16 No. 8 (20/2/65). This will be the last before I go on holidays in two weeks. (I should get this before then.) :)

I went to the ephemera fair in London but only bought one comic, a Roy of the Rovers Christmas issue with Eric Morecambe on the cover. I did pick up dozens (47 issues i think) of those Home Notes and Home Chat magazines with some John Canning and Leslie Caswell illustrations as well as the first three issues of Date magazine from 1960, plus half a dozen other women's magazines from the 1950s and three issues of Blighty from the 1940s - all for a quid each (apart from a few of the other women's magazines).

In a charity shop in Lewisham yesterday i saw a Best of Chums book which i'd never seen before.
