Theres room for old and new...

its a great time for reprints....more I say...

I liked reading 6 Desperate Dans in order and 3 Bears 2 parter......Classics is getting better......

Also it has more pages........2 extra.........68 pages instead of 66........ :D

Also nice to see more dates of the comic pages..hand written in.....

The Desperate Dan run through the issue was a reprint of a reprint! It has the 80s date with Dudley Watkins artwork because they couldn't find any artist good enough to draw him...so reprinted.

It's always had 68 pages. The only difference now is they're counting the cover as page 1 instead of starting with page 3.

It's a reprint of a reprint of a reprint then because those strips appeared in The Dandy in the Sixties and then in the 1970's after Watkins died.

Give Charlie Grigg his due, he did some great Dan strips for the Summer Specials and Dandy Books in the 1970's.

Nice to see the Banana Bunch by Leo Bsxendale...super detail...love it

Also the black Sapper is getting good.loved the cinema screen bit...

More Leo Baxendale please.....and early Ken Reid...Ali Ha Ha...etc..

The reason that 'Classics from the Comics' contains a dearth of materail from the pre 1960 period is that all of the artwork post 1959 was placed on film and it is a lot easier to access the film files than to haul up the original artwork from the vaults in order to reprint the earlier stuff.

Nice to see Leo Baxendale work of the Banana Bunch and Minnie the minx this issue.......love to see more..also Ken Reids work as well..... :D
