What comics did you buy today?

It's not what I got but what I lost I had a box of 2000ad comics and a box of 80s to late 90s annuals which were going to my local fair havens charity shop, no longer collect these, I have found both boxs full of water, I had left them on the floor just inside my garage , my area had floods on Sunday due to the heavy rain over a foot deep in the middle of the road, the rain seeped into my garage and the boxs of comics soaked up the water like sponges.

On Sunday I picked up the Marvel Ultimate Graphic novel collection (UK) of DR Strange "A nameless land, a timeless time" by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko (excellent package for £9.99) also got the Dandy summer special

Also recently picked up Paul Grists (Image) Mud Man vol one collection (£7.99) a really fun read. Highly recommend all of these

Aw man, that sucks. Can't donate them to the charity in that state.

I feel for you. We lost a pile of comics when one of our radiators went. Not a nice feeling.

That's why it's always a good idea to bag your comics and store them properly. We had a minor flood a few years back and I had boxes of comics stacked in the hall (still do). The water got to the bottom boxes but all the comics were bagged so nothing was damaged except the boxes.

Today, I bought the 2000 AD Winter Special 1994 (the last one I was missing) and issue #7 of a Canadian title called Personality Comics: a comic strip biography of Samantha Fox, from 1991.

That's why it's always a good idea to bag your comics and store them properly. We had a minor flood a few years back and I had boxes of comics stacked in the hall (still do). The water got to the bottom boxes but all the comics were bagged so nothing was damaged except the boxes.

I store my comics in big plastic boxes with tight lids. Water is going to have to work at it to get in there.

There are exceptions of course, you just have to hope there are not floods of biblical proportions.

Well, Karen went visiting and went to Blyth market and picked up some crackers. 10 issues of Tornado, 3 issues of Bullet and a big chunk of Cheeky and Krazy. Nice.

Whizzer and Chips annual 1979, at a cost beginning with a £ and ending with a 5.
Soon I'll buy the Topper Book 1961 at a different cost beginning with a £ and ending with a 5.

Ick, sorry to hear about that. I live in a first floor flat, so floods won't be a problem (we never get them in my area anyway), but I DO have six crates full of comics under my desk, which has a small aquarium on top of it. Sudden paranoid thoughts and all that.
