However, after our visit to Glasgow Comic Con and the Scottish Comic Society on Thursday, we have picked up a few more titles such as Vietnam Zombie Holocaust issue 2, Tales of The Oak Issue 1, Achi Baba: Gallipoli 1915, Robbie Burns: Witch Hunter, Bloodquest and Disconnnected Press' Cross.
We might up some more tomorrow, but with all the sketches, I am not sure what else we will pick up. However, I am tempted by a few of the Shaky Kane's comics and Accent UK's stuff is looking quite tasty as well.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
My son brought me some annuals from car boot today where he was standing with a stall
ADVENTURE LAND 1926 annual D C Thomson
JACK and JILL 1958 annual
these were included in a 3 for a pound group which also included a LADYBIRD BOOK PUDDLE LANE this one he kept for himself because it was illustrated by my brother.
also got me
THE CHAMPION ANNUAL 1952 for 50p
meanwhile I was at another carboot and bought
Look and Learn magazine No 718 Oct 1975
Batman Forever souvenir comic (worn condition)
Star Wars episode 1 the phantom menace
these cost me 70p
Edited two of the titles because last time I tried typing the words pudding and phantom I got a pie and a ghost icon instead of the words.I think I've worked it out now,
talk about technology! Also turned out my son said puddle lane and I thought he said pudding lane

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Well, I got Beast Wagon, Stephenson's Robot and the Western, Robots and Predators anthologies from Accent UK. I have been lucky enough to get sketches from many people. The list is as follows:
Sean Phillips
Nigel Parkinson
Colin MacNeil
Shaky Kane
David Lloyd
John Pearson
Jon Haward
Al Ewing
Dave Alexander.
The last three were complete bonuses as they had been busy when I first saw them. And I will be honest and say that they are all a treat to look at. I will add them to my blog for anyone to have a look later.

After a long gap- I won another `Sparky` free gift on E.bay! The 1966 (With issue No 60) "Sparky Spinner" didn't cost as much as feared as that Canadian chap "Jor El" I think not about on E.bay I think!
A Face unclouded by thought.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
I bought 3 issues of super-heroes (UK Marvel publication in 1975) for less than six quid, leaving me with eight issues to complete the full set. A far cry from my last big purchase (Re: banned Action 23/10/76 issue) but I do go for the small fry as well. I have an idea with comics from the seventies and its big. I shall endeavour to collect as many as possible
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Today no luck at the local book fair, then went shopping and found (and bought) a nice lot of early sixties girls annuals - Bunty/Princess/Judy/June/ all in really nice condition for £2/3 each
plus the 1961 Beryl the Peril annual and a truly gorgeous copy of Playhour Annual 1960.

Hit the local car boot yesterday and I picked up Judy 1974, School Friend 1958 and Girls Crystal 1959. Currently building a blog post from them. Only up to 1500 words so far...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
complete Fantastic Four #5 of Marvel UK, which completes that set, including the ambiguous model plane kits from the first two issues. Always good to complete a set. Next up... not far off the likes off "Acton" and "Bullet". It's series like "Buster" and "Whizzer and Chips" (the IPC humour comics) that seem difficult to collect.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Visited Stockport's Vintage Village in its market on Sunday - got a 1973 Look-In, complete with centre poster, featuring Ziggy era David Bowie.
SOme great well drawn strips inside - also interesting looking at regional TV listings, when there were things to watch on TV.
Then also from an open 2nd hand shop, an edition of Crikey!, featuring an article on Diana's strip of TV series The Avengers.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
For once, our local auction house had something that interested me and I was lucky to bid enough to win the lots. Both were comic related and contained 8 Commandos in fair condition ranging from 968 (The first Commando I ever got to pick) to 1389, 7 Starblazers from issue 2 to 11 and these are in good condition, and about 30 annuals ranging from Beano 1974 to the 1988 Viz The Dog's B*ll*cks.
Some rarities, for me, in there like School Friend 1979 and and some childrens' books from the 1960s and 1970s including Collins' The Young Range Rider by Frank C Robertson from 1962!

Chap on the market sells collectables which includes a couple of boxes of comics. I always go through them each week although his prices are not my prices.Found two of the cheaper ones I liked which were £3 each decided to barter and got them both for a fiver.Having watched the antiques road trip I have found you can get things nearer your own price if you ask. These were two DC comics which had complete stories and I liked the cover art.

What have these got to do with UK comics?they were bought in the UK.
My son treated me to some comics off Ebay last week and they arrived yesterday
4 x Eagle comics 1957
2× Radio fun comics 1957
He knew the prices might be too steep for me

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Bought this week's Beano, this month's Doctor Who Comic, and The Simpsons Summer Bumper Pack (which is an issue of Simpsons Comics and two of Bart & Co).
I see next month's Doctor Who Comic is a giant size issue - they're running four US issues (Matt Smith's Doctor gets doubled up) instead of the usual three, and charging an extra pound (fair enough, they're charging 25% more for 33% more content). I expect this will become a regular occurrence from now on, due to Ten and Eleven needing to be caught up to Twelve before the Four Doctors crossover event (they started earlier in the US due to Twelve waiting for his TV run to start), and to allow for the Ninth Doctor's mini-series (Eight has had one announced too).
