perhaps they DCT dont want the revamp news getting out to early so are sending copies out late this week and possibly next week.

I just hope it's not late in the shops too.

If that's the case that's slightly annoying as the whole point of me paying to subscribe is to get it before it's in the shops. Recently it seems to arrive late every week.

Anyone wishing to see advance copies of BEANO is advised to become a Beano artist or writer and visit the Dundee offices regularly; that way you can hold of copies up to six weeks in advance [or at least a month]

That's how they used to work, anyway.....

Still no issue today. I have now contacted DC Thomson to see what is going on.

Got mine today..
the ending gives you no idea of what will be in the revamp..

the cover is the same type has when the Dandy started to loose a letter at a time before its revamp...this time Walter has painted over the letters..
The new logo might be the one on the Beano annual...its different to the advert....rounded letters..

When Dandy Xtreme changed back to The Dandy in 2010, it's advert didn't have a logo on it at all. Is this advert similar then? And does it mention the issue number, which if not being reset like so many American comics recently, should be #3854?

Rounded letters describes every Beano logo since 1971, Peter.

The ad for the Beano annual says "Please note that the front cover image of the Beano annual may change." That said, next week is clearly going to be the pre-launch, as another issue is required to defeat Walter and his dad before the actual revamp happens.

My copy arrived today - it's the vagaries of Whistl, I'm afraid. They are not good mail distributors in my opinion, and the name change from TNT did nothing to improve this.

The unknown is actually making it quite daunting now.

Although there have been changes and I accept things do move on, The Beano at it's core has been the same comic for decades now. I just wonder how much will change.

I'm sure it will be great but I can't wait to find out. :)

Peter, do you have a copy of the real thing?
