-Dandy Beano: The First Fifty Years (got nearly all the Dandy Beano books, took me a LONG while to finally get this one!)
-The Beezer No.1702
-Smut No.30
-Blag No.3
-Kack No.1
-Zit No.57
-Viz No.62

Re: What comics did you buy today?
In the flea market on Saturday I picked up three overstreet price guides 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15 all at 50p each. Last one was near mint. Shame I paid full price for it last year. Also got graphic novel the OMAC project containing issues 1-6 and wonder woman 219. Also 50p.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Sunny day at 2 carboots this morning one being free and the other 20p for senior citizens.
Not much in the way of comics on view.
I just got -
THE BLACK HOLE ANNUAL 1981-------£1
and three fridge magnets one of which contains DELL comic cover art.
Apart from those ,for nostalgic reading got THE HORNBY GAUGE 0 SYSTEM with lots of colour pictures of clockwork train sets and b/w photo's of the factory making them, should be an interesting read.
75 years of THE FLASH was available in hardback at another stall but the chap wanted £10 for it,which was not a starting price I could even think of negotiating from,£3 being more my upper limit.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Went to get my midweek fix of comics.
got--
DC THE WARLORD 1981-------£1
DC SWORD OF THE ATOM 1984------£1
On the way home thought I would look in at a charity shop where books are 10p
I was a couple of minutes late because some chap was sorting through a box of annuals and had put a number on one side.I noticed he had Beryl the Peril annual which I would also have chosen,I don't know what others he had picked out but nothing that was left was of interest to me so I decided to look through the adult books and I found----
BATMAN GRAPHIC NOVEL Eaglemoss collection.2015-------10p
SUPERMAN GRAPHIC NOVEL Eaglemoss collection.2015-----10p
These were as new with subscription leaflets still inside.
At first impressions I am slightly put off by some of the frantic artwork but I will see how reading them goes and whether I can get used to the newer versions of these super heroes.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
In my opinion 'Frantic' is the perfect word to describe a lot of modern American artwork! Not that some of it isn't well drawn, but I really miss the more sedate storytelling of the artists I grew up with.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Bought 10 Commandos from Ebay including the only cover that I know that has been done by Jim Watson.
I also went a little mad and bought the book The Art of Denis McLoughlin.
And here is the cover for Rogue Sub

I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Bought the trade collection of Red Thorn (DC comic written by an acquaintance, David Baillie). It was good (and beautifully drawn) but it felt kind of weird to be reading it as a trade rather than individual issues - the pacing felt a bit fast, as if things were happening which hadn't been given enough space to develop. Not sure that I can articulate it that well! I enjoyed it but wasn't entranced by it.
jintycomic.wordpress.com/ Excellent and weird stories from the past - with amazing art to boot.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
From ebay, TV Picture Stories Highway Patrol #28 - photo cover of Broderick Crawford and ifc photo of Crawford both from the tv show, (10-4). And TPL #164, Claude Duval - a nice Brock cover and Steve Chapman interior art.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Today I bought a copy of the good-looking "Boys' Ranch" no. 2, published in Melbourne by Gordon and Gotch, October 1955. I think it reprints a Simon and Kirby "Kid Cowboys" strip, though I don't know which issue yet.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
That's a nice find, babington. I've had a look on some sites for that cover but can't find it. It doesn't seem to be one of the Harvey covers, at least according to GCD, so, any chance you could let us all know what you find out about it, please?

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Quiet week, probably because I love the Olympics!
Bonanza #1 Top Sellers 1970 and Tarzan of the Apes #1 T&P 1971.
Should be a quiet weekend on the comic buying front as well as the footie season starts!

A Face unclouded by thought.
