Me too.
And the first episode of Dr Who, 'An Unearthly Child' is on BBC Four tomorrow at 10.30pm.

Here you go.

I've also shown the Dr.Who strip from that issue:

An Unearthly Child is actually four episodes. Or four episodes are being shown on BBC4 (just in case they aren't all An Unearthly Child).

^That gets confusing. An Unearthly Child is the name of the first episode, but was retrospectively applied to the whole four part serial. And yes, BBC Four is airing all four parts.

I must say I'm really looking forward to this - more than the upcoming 50th anniversary episode in fact!

It's been photoshopped though, to have David Bradley's face instead of William Hartnell's.

As there are currently three issues of the Radio Times knocking about I'm not sure when this is on but I remember reading something in the listings in the past few days. It mentioned someone worried about a son or younger brother being corrupted by reading the Hotspur. I don't fancy leafing through four weeks of tv programmes so has anyone else seen this? I don't think its a new programme so someone may remember it from a previous showing.

I found it in the Christmas Radio Times - 21st December Dad's Army - Mainwaring is worried about Pike writing for the Hotspur about his experiences in the Home Guard. I've seen every Dad's Army but don't remember that so i doubt there is an image of the Hotspur.

Whilst not a direct sighting of a comic but still comic related:
I was in the library on You Tube when I came accross the "ITV All Star Comedy Carnival 1972" - the opening animated title graphics were drawn by one of DCT's artists (not sure which one), who drew the Bash Street Kids amongst his works.
One of the characters was the spit of Fatty Brown from Bash Street.

Smoking a cigar! 0:50 on this clip:

I also spotted a picture of Billy Bunter on a christmas cracker in those titles, and near the start, a guy who looks like the Beano's OTHER Fatty, Frederick Fudge, Minnie's enemy.

Surely it's just the work of some graphic designer who copied various images from comics? I think if an actual Thomson artist had done it he'd have made a better job of it.

And "Fatty" wouldn't be smoking!

Well.... Korky smoked on the cover of the 1968 Dandy Summer Special, and schoolgirls in The Dolls of St Dominics in Pow! were seen smoking a fag or two so things weren't so strict back then. But, yeah, it's definitely not official DCT artwork on that tv title.

Oh well, it still had a very good likeness to DCT art - all credit to the artist, whoever it was.

I watched Dad's Army last night and we do see Sergeant Wilson reading the Hotspur and you can see some of the cover (yellow with a giant red metal claw like thing) Phoenix can probably identify it. Jones gets annoyed that Wilson is reading the Hotspur because he says he usually is first to have it after Pike. The copy in question actually looks quite worn so is probably an original that the props department got hold of.

Whilst not from a TV show, though film may have been on TV many years ago (pardon me if mentioned before on this site; I'm so busy these days):
I was watching the gritty Hammer Horror from early 70s "Straight On Till Morning" and in an early scene the villain Peter (real name Clive) goes into a Newsagents - a Playhour & Robin is in full view, complete with Magic Roundabout cover; can also see ttitle head of a Pippin comic and top end of what may be a boys' comics (Warlord perhaps?).
