I haven't posted my purchases for a few weeks as the real world has been very busy. Amongst my recent purchases I've managed to collect the following:

High Seas Adventure Comic #1 and only - GT Ltd - 1952
2 lots of Starblazer comics (16 comics) filling 3 more gaps meaning only 3 to go.
Funny Wonder Annual - 1938
20 x Joe 90 comics - City Magazines - 1969 - sadly think I paid too much for these but I got carried away as I loved the TV programme when I was a kid!
Matt Slade Gunfighter #1 - T&P - 1957
Korak, Son of Tarzan #1 - T&P - 1971
Zombie #1 - L Miller - 1961
Commando Annual - 1990 - That's both of them collected now
Noddy Time #1 - Woman's Way - 1975
Noddy and his Friends #1 - Hudvale - 1974
Valiant book of Sports - 1972 & Valiant Book of Conquest of the Air - 1970 - Only the book of Pirates to get and I have all of the 'Valiant Book ofs'
Speed #1 with free gift - IPC - 1980
I also picked up 4 x Commandos, 2 x Smash and 8 x Hurricanes - all filling gaps or replacing poor quality copies

Picked up 2000AD - was proclaimed as a jumping on issue on the cover, with new story starts for all characters.

Definite improvement over the last few months issues - but going by the amount of Mega City based stories they may have well have called it the Judge Dredd Megazine II. We have a Judge Dredd story, a Judge Anderson story, and a Judge Fear story...!

Art in all the issue a huge improvement though, from what they were publishing last year and the start of this.

A conservative estimate would be that over 10,000 issues of Commando were there and that's not even including all the Micron Combat Libraries, Battle, War, Air Ace, War At Sea, Club, Pearsons, Sabre Western, Starblazer and so forth. I could go on but I think you get the picture. :D :D
where was this col was it for the public or just a private thing between you and a few friends ?

Ordered M.A.C.H. 1 : The John Probe Mission Files graphic novel from Amazon.

M.A.C.H. 1 was one of my favourite strips in the early years of 2000AD.

Is that the one that just came out this month? If it is, you are in for a treat.

Great stuff. Somewhat rough and ready but good boisterous fun and very 1960s.

I went through them last night and there were only eight I didn't already have. Jon the dealer said he'd take back any doubles in exchange for other stuff. He had about fifty Beanos from 1964. But I'm close to a full set of Smash! now. Next month its the pulp and paperback fair at the Royal National so there should be a few more dealers with UK comics.

Sorry I missed your post Bri. This was in Newcastle under Lyme and organised by the members of the Commando Comics Collectors group on Facebook. The third event is being organised by yours truly, is in Lochore in September and I already have a couple of artists who have agreed to come along!

Got a smashing bound volume of Ally Sloper's Half-Holiday from 1886, numbers 88-113. Some really fantastic covers.
