Re my previous post can anyone put their hands on Whoopee issues dated 5th and 19th April 1975. I need to confirm the page count. Mine have 28 pages. I thought IPC comics had 32. The next issue has 32 pages but it has a centre spread pin-up which is advertised on the cover. There is no pin-up advertised on those first two

At the city market a stall had a bunch of old comics this morning , mainly US plus a number of Alan Class comics.
Many of the US comics looked their age but at a £1 each were still a bargain.
I limited myself to £5's worth and got--------

Yosemite Sam 1973
Action comics 1974
Lois Lane 1964
Worlds Finest 1964
Superboy 1964

Looking through piles of comics seems to me to be a form of meditation :)

I'm afraid this was not even this week, but my most recent comics buy was 17 copies of Best of Whizzer and Chips Monthly from 1987 to 1989. Great fun reading.

Well done AndyB. I myself had so many Whizzer & Chips comics in the early eighties as a kid. 😎

My parents used to pick me & my brother up comics after doing the weekly shop which included copies of the Beano, Dandy, Eagle reboot from our local newsagents, including a mixture each of flying saucers, toffee logs, fish & chips and wine gums etc... Ah, yes. The memories, no teeth, but loads of memories. 😁

You should have bought the whole boxful. I'd happily have paid you £1.50 per comic plus postage for any others of that type plus the Alan Class comics.

I was glad to get the Bugs bunny one as all the rest were superheroes comics which I have become a bit weary of , also I chose ones that were in better condition.
My main interest in collecting is finding comic titles that I have not already got.

The stall next to this stall also sells a couple of boxes of U.S. comics but his prices tend to be between £3 to £10 or more. When I do buy from that stall which is rare I pick 2 or 3 and try to negotiate a price .
Well the owner of that stall who is fairly chatty came across to me at this stall and asked if I had found anything he then picked out a comic which he bought for himself which I expect he will sell for a profit.

I have other Bugs bunny comics along with other cartoon plus Disney comics.
I am always interested in buying these because I think they may get over looked by some buyers.

When it comes to U.S. Comics Crime , Westerns, horror and tv shows would be my preference the older the better.

As for the Alan Class comics I have a number of them but there was one with a cover I really liked but since I had decided to spend only £5 after a moments thought decided to leave It.

With William and Kate making the headlines in the last couple of days.
I thought I would mention this comic that I got from a charity shop a few years ago.

Some of you may remember that this comic was touted on tv to be a good investment for the future.

I have my doubts.

I would need to hop on the time machine , set the dial, watch as it spins through the decades to give you an answer. :)

The likelihood is that someone had a vested interest Abacus, so wanted to create a market that didn't exist. Thank heaven's there wasn't a Prince Andrew variant.

That's true , there was another comic produced with the William one and that was a Kate Middleton comic which I haven't yet got in my collection.

Surprising what they'll release. Now thinking about it. They do say comics & figure sets that are initially not best sellers often become collectable and sort after later. So never say never. 😊💸

Happy Sunday, everyone.

Last month, I bought a load of Buster comics from 1972.

I haven't read any of them yet but certainly look more action focused compared to the version I used to get back in the early 80s (and would have preferred it too).

Looking forward to reading them. :settee:

The first issue of Monster Fun came through the post today.

Nicely done.

The Highs: The Leopard from Lime Street. The Lows: No Sweeny Toddler by Tom Patterson.

Definitely looking forward to the next issue.

Does the Monster Fun comic have any Tom Paterson artwork in it?

His stuff was my personal high light in the holiday special/issue 0.
