I researched the 'First appearance of Biffo' some time ago, and he actually first appeared in Beano #325 as a picture advert, then again in #326 as the masthead instead of Peanut, then in your #327 as a full front cover.

Beano #326 is actually for sale on ebay just now so you can see the new masthead.

You are right in what you say. Although issue 327 is when Biffo was officially announced he did appear in those issues mentioned. My mistake.

Apart from all that, you've got yourself a really lovely comic !

Thanks. Yeah, on the whole it's in nice condition for its age.

Sourced a nice Dandy comic no.408 1949 in fine condition.

Being a fan of anything horror/halloween related recently bought myself a superb Krazy comic issue no.1 with vampire fangs free gift dated october 16th 1976 in fine condition. What a great cover!

Just received the following today - Buster and Giggle 15th June 1968

Sourced myself a nice snowcapped Xmas Beano comic no.325 from December 27th 1947 in VG cond. Also, coincidentally this is the very comic that first mentioned Biffo the Bear in an advert before appearing on the cover of issue no. 327 1948.

Thanks Hawkeye. Yeah, I'll be honest. When I bought the comic recently totally forgot its significance. I only realised this when flicking through the pages to see the advert in question stating so. If you can recall, I wrongly stated issue #327 from 1948 was the first appearance of Biffo Bear when I was rightly corrected that Biffo appeared first in an advert before officially being revealed with fanfare to readers. Nice to own a bit of comic history, better still, a Christmas issue too..
