Just come back from the biggest boot sale I have been to for a couple of years not one British comic on the hundreds of stalls not even the bootie perennial comic 2000AD very lean pickings a couple of stalls selling modern Marvel and DC comics most £4/£5 each, too much for this old pensioners pocket. I did buy a Steed and Mrs Peel graphic novel so it almost is a British comic.

Someone snapped up a bargain yesterday with a lovely bright copy of Buster no. 1 dated May 28th 1960 selling on Ebay for less than £79 in nice condition. If I didn't already own a copy I would have definitely bid on it.

There were a few interesting items in the charity shops today but I don!t think I was in a buying mood,
These included Greyfriars Holiday annuals from 1979_to_1986 at £2 each ,they are made up of reprints of the Magnet and Gem etc,
I like the nostalgic aspect of these old story papers but too much reading for my liking.

Another shop had a box full of Judge Dread comics at a £1 esch

The market had a 1958 Lion annual and some Whoopee comics

Interesting items but me no buy today :D

If you like that deal, there’s another seller selling 1-255 for £250 with free p&p and they’ll accept offers. Just saying…….

Just seen on eBay a first issue copy of the 1969 British comic Super DC with part of cover missing, loads of other cover faults and it looks like foxing on the paper for £100 or buy it now for £140 , I know some of the later issues are very hard to get of the 14 issue run I have been trying to get issue 13 to complete my run for many years. There is often copy’s of issue 1 for sale for £10 ,

Went to Kempton Park Antiques Fair on Tuesday, not much of interest to me but one seller had Mighty Crusaders no. 1 from the mid 60s but wanted £18 for it. I had no idea what is was worth so passed if up. It features the origin of the Shield. Archie comics decided to cash in on Marvel's super hero success by resurrecting their own heroes from the golden age.

That is annoying Into The Abyss, it has happened me a few times on Ebay. If you bought via Ebay you can open a case and they will refund you shortly. If you paid to an online shop by PayPal you can contact PayPal and ask them to cancel the transaction and refund you. Similarly contact your Visa Company/Bank if you paid directly by your card.

Thanks Chalky. Yeah it's a pain in the butt. I was so happy too to find the comic even though in poor condition. Only wanted it as an example to marry up with Dandy art owned. Amazing how difficult it's been to source that particular issue.

I started to worry when the date of delivery passed and the seller ignored my message which raise a red flag? I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt because it was sent by 2nd class and assumed it was delayed, not to mention I didn't want to jump the gun only for it to turn up in the post. Had similar happen before.

I know ebay's got way better over the years to speed up things. I can remember when months went by. Think it was about two months before you could act at one point? But still find it frustrating when you open up a case and there's a set period , about a week still, where you have to wait before ebay steps in to act on your behalf. Oh well. My search continues.

I've been on Ebay for many years and in my experience, for every bad seller there are 100 great sellers.
It's always frustrating when you deal with a bad seller but ultimatelly these people close accounts, change names, act like a new seller and eventually are found out and kicked out.
Through Ebay I have met some very nice people that helped me to complete various collections at far less than market value.
I had one guy that I bought 2 Future Tense comics from just throw in an extra 3.
One guy included free gifts in Thor comics after he found them.
Someone helped me complete my Avengers weekly set for very low prices.
I recently dealt with a collector that sold me Look-ins worth a fortune as they were so rare for same cost as he sold me regular issues.
I've managed to get really rare stuff through contacts and friends that I have made through the ebay community.
MY POINT IS....I'm sorry you had a bad experience but TRUST ME..THERE ARE SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE THERE.
Don't let it put you off.
