Thanks Lew! Whether there were any DCT titles `outside` of what Ray has listed for 1964 giving gifts about that date would be interesting to know. Maybe Leo got it wrong?

Those are "FANTASTIC"" Hen! Has the `Squeezy Wheezy" got the smaller balloon for making it squeak? Or have you only got what's on that last Photo?

Kashgar I think you are correct about there not being more stickers the folowing week for the Patch A Picture Book #232 though my stickers are stuck together i think they would all be there if i could open them but you missed the gift the week before #231 - A Bimbo Glove Puppet , I can't find my one thought it would be inside comic so only able to post photo of comic.

Thanks for all the brilliant illustrations Hen and also thanks for clearing up the mystery of the missing Bimbo gift. I should have maybe guessed that a glove puppet would have been the accompanying gift as it would be replicated the following year.

Thanks for the Sparky publicity details Alan. How did you find all this out? It's a fine bit of research.

These threads are turning out to be a real treasure trove of images and information that make a fine addition to Phoenix's definitive book on the 'Free Gifts In The Big Five'. I can't help feeling they should form the basis for an extra section on the main Comics UK site to go along with Al's coverage of Summer Specials and Annuals as spin-offs from the weekly comics (though another book seems like a distinct possibility as well).

Jumping the gun a bit here's a pink flyer from 1966 advertising the second Bimbo glove puppet based on Bill Ritchie's Pip the Penguin.

This sounds remarkably like another outing for the Funny Fizzogs given with The Hotspur 1001 (Jan. 14 1956).

A tiny chain that can be positioned to make a profile? Yes, School Fun No.1 had a similar gift in the 1980s.

I don't have any of the Fizzogs but here is the advert from The Hotspur 1000 (Jan. 7 1956), alerting readers to the following week's Free Gift.
