I was searching in my comic cupboard last week for some stuff to put on ebay and came across this book by Leo Baxendale which is a sort of chronical of his time at DC Thomson. It has no illustrations and I wondered if it was distributed at all as I have never seen another copy. Its full title is Leo Baxendale On Comedy The Beano and Ideology. Will put it on ebay as trying to thin out collection which has become unmanageable. (Not surprised as I started in 1965 with TV21 issue 21).

Leo Baxendale distributed his books via his own imprint "Reaper Books" and I think this was published and distributed by them (I have a tatered copy somewhere in the house) Ihave only ever seen his books in specialist comic shops but I'm sure the odd copy may have landed onthe hight street.

I've read it. It's quite interesting but rather heavy going. He seems to be inordinately upset because BBC2 used one of his illustrations out of context in the Arena programme 'Comic Warfare' about the Beano and Dandy back in the 1980s.
