Has anyone other than me taken delivery of this book yet? I was really looking forward to this book but have to say I have been very much underwelmed by what I have read so far. The artwork is very nice stuff but it reads like crib notes rather than an adaption from a novel. I hope the stories improve as I progress through this book otherwise I can't see myself finishing it anytime soon.

I didn't buy it because I have the stories in the albums that Titan just completed. Yes, the early strips aren't that great so it's an unfortunate choice for the omnibus. The stories improve later. However bear in mind the strips were never intended to be collected. As daily strips the idea was to capture the essence of the books in short memorable episodes rather than be a comic book adaptation.

The later ones do flow better though, so if Titan do a second omnibus you might enjoy that more. (Or alternatively buy the already-published albums.)

I find the early, John McLusky-drawn ones, a bit stiff. The art seems old-fashioned somehow, although there's nothing really wrong with it.

I've really enjoyed the Yaroslav Horak ones though; his art was a revelation to me and it seems quite a surprise that such a stylised look was run in a mass-circulation paper every day.

Personally I love the art and stories in issue 1. I hope the later "stylised" artwork isn't too stylised! (For some reason I have visions of that "amazing" (apparently) Cybermen story Vworp Vworp raved about, where the cybermen have really narrow heads and it's all super-sharp only black or only white).

I agree with felneymike. I loved the first volume and keep meaning to buy the second.
