2000AD OR HALO IDENTIFICATION

Post by Old Forum Fella »

I'm trying to find a strip which appeared in either 2000AD or Halo Jones but I don't know either what it was called or when it came out.

All I remember is that a young woman is lounging about her apartment and feeling very dissatisfied with the world she lives in. She's either reading a book by the Ancient Roman poet Lucretius or a book about him, and wishing she could meet a guy like him. Which is a bit odd really, given that Lucretius eschewed romantic love.

Still, I'd like to go back and see how the story developed. Can anyone identify it?

Erm, I assume you mean the strip Halo Jones which appeared in 2000AD. Never actually read the strip myself (always seemed to skip this one?!?) which is odd because it's a cracker by all accounts. Alan Moore and Ian Gibson were the two folk responsible. Try this site and see if it rings a bell.

I read through Halo Jones over the weekend and the scene I mentioned (reading a book by or about Lucretius) does not appear in this. So the question is still open: where did I see this?
