Do violent computer games cause behavior problems?

Post by Serai »

What are the opinions about this of you guys?

The same could be asked for violent comics as well.

Will they cause behavior troubles?

I thnik it depends on the one playing. I think it would definately cause some issues with people that have mental illnesses.

No they don't.

With a video game you are actually committing any act of violence you may wish to do and therefore your urge for that particular act of violence is instantly satisfied.

They do not serve as a demonstration as you are the one in control of whatever scenario the character is in.

Books, Films and Music may be accused of such a thing as the audience are listening, watching and may see this as some sort of demonstration and then get the urge to commit the violence.

You have to be pretty unhinged in the first place, you don't become a nutter by playing 10mins of Red Dead Redemption or watching Rambo no matter what the media (responsible for glamourising acts of violence) would have you believe
