Score 'n' Roar - Who were these two Super Heroes?

Post by steelclaw »

Yes that's right Super Heroes who gave their amazing insight into the game of football
every week in SCORE 'n' ROAR.(SCORE for the last 8 Issues :) )

Who were they?

Come forward and tell us who you are.

Where have you been for the last 40 years?

What are you doing now?

These questions must be answered.

"The Inside Man" looks a little bit like Bob Paynter but I could be mistaken. Whoever they are they'd be IPC staffers and not necessarily the people who wrote those pages.

Next, Lew will be trying to tell us that Ossie wasn't really the Whoopee office boy.

Re-read that thread. He said he didn't work on Score 'n' Roar, he only worked on Scorcher and Score.

Re-read my post I didn't say Score 'n' Roar.

John Stokes might have just worked on the Score bit of Scorcher & Score and those 2 heroes might have moved across with the merge. So he might have known them.

Inside Man probably got dropped when Score 'n' Roar dropped the two in one gimmick and became just Score. The Captain may have carried over though, I don't know.

Sorry Guys, I can't help you . As I explain to Crow in the forthcoming interview, I hardly ever met any editorial staff. All my stuff was posted in and the next week's script came to me by post as well. Some London based artists probably visited the office every week, and knew all the ins and outs of editorial work, but it was a mystery to me.
