Also what issue did Chsrles Griggs start it must have been near the 1000 Dandy issue..

The Korky mask I remember well and it did glow at night a kind of green glow..

Korky had a great face

Looks like Bill Ritchie to me, Peter: very unusual!

I can't remember any other instance of Bill 'ghosting' although he's not really hiding his style [on frame 3 especially].
The main picture with the 'whizz-bang' or whatever looks like Chrichton job, though.......

Peter---I've tried finding DCT stuff on Comic Vine , but all I can see is American comics subjects.

Any chance of a link to Korky or British stuff on Comic Vine [it's complicated to nagivate, in my view].

Yeah, Comic Vine is a great resource (what Tony's Trading and Comics UK do for annuals, CV tries to do for the weekly comics, although the annuals can legitimately be listed there too), but of course some issues are missing. Notably, 2000AD has every issue listed (I think Doctor Who Magazine does as well), but most UK titles don't, and I want that situation to change. If you can help, please do. Also, if you think a cover scan is too small and can provide a bigger one, yes please! I can add it and ask on the forums for the old one to be deleted (anyone can do this, but there's a points system, you need a certain amount to bypass moderation, and I already have the required number).

Digi any covers I've scanned at the blog you can use for comic vine if you reupload them..

I know you're saying to reupload because of bandwidth concerns, but understandably they don't allow hotlinking anyway (except in the forums where it's possible to use HTML) so I had to reupload them regardless. I've added the six Korky covers you posted the other day, none of those were already on Comic Vine, so thanks.

a nice festive Christmas back cover of choking!! Nice striking black cover with the red Christmas outfit showing up well and Korky's black and white features..very bold..

Korky the cat sure was more stronger humour than Biffo..
its those mice that bring out this aspect Biffo didn't have any enemies..

Korky could really be bashed about at times..

Heh, Dan was on the Beano cover over 30 years before he became the Dandy cover star. That's probably his first colour appearance in a comic (of course, all of the annual covers on which he appears show him in colour), and it wasn't even in his own comic.

There is a serious point there, though, Rab. You'd probably find that the likes of Jamie, Andy, Phil, etc have all done quite a bit of "serious" work - what is published in the Dandy and the Beano etc is by contrast deliberately simplified, impressionistic and distorted, often all at the same time. There is also a lot of precision to their work that a numpty like me couldn't approach.

I will not play down the fact that Charlie Grigg is a fantastic artist, just sayin'
