I know several members of this Forum have been regular readers of my blog since the very start when it was focused exclusively on COR!! comic but I thought I might use this thread as a venue for a another shameless plug and let everybody know that I started a series of 24 daily posts to celebrate EURO 2012. The series runs in parallel with my COR!! posts and is dedicated to football theme in British comics. Today’s post has an episode of Manager Matt in which Mudchester United tackles the team of France in a European Cup competition. Nothing similar to the draw in the yesterday’s match between England and France

Congratulations on completing your magnificent (and highly recommended!) series of football strips KP. As Peter says you must have a truly impressive collection. If you're looking for any similar themes for the future don't forget that the Olympics are just around the corner!
Having said that, I can't help thinking that there were a few obvious scenes you missed out on. How about Davey Law's Beryl the Peril popping out of the World Cup Trophy with her autograph book at the ready... or James Crighton's classic wraparound cover from the 1957 Beano Annual:

Thanks for complimenting my efforts on the blog, Phil! As for the size of my collection, it is indeed quite large but by no means complete. I am sure there are lots and lots of interesting examples that I am unaware of or don’t have. Beano-wise, with a few (OK, maybe not so few) exceptions, my collection is limited to the period between 1958 and 1964 because I concentrated on putting together a full set of Jonah and Jinx. Incidentally, I completed the “mission” last week by winning Beano 817 on eBay with the first installment of Jonah – the only one that I didn’t have…

Wow! All the Jonah strips! I love Ken Reid's work - and I really wanted the books of his complete work for Odhams, but sadly they were too expensive for me
Maybe you could collect the Jonah strips together?

I came on here today purposefully to mention how good this blog's new posts have been this thread, as I was on there yesterday (for a completely different reason than to read the new updates I'm sad to say) but as i see the person who owns the blog is a member, I shall just compliment them instead:
The new updates have been really good klakadak-ploobadoof. The Rat Trap and Shiver & Shake posts were excellent and the comprehensive look at the Guest Star feature, complete with Grimly Feendish strip, was even better. Cor!! really dissevers the amount effort you put in and the amount of effort you put in really dissevers praise. Also I am VERY jealous of your complete run of Jinx strips.

Thanks for your support, folks, I am really happy to read all this. I genuinely enjoy doing the blog. There are about ten or so COR!! strips left, plus a look at the annuals and holiday specials published in the years after the weekly folded. As I slowly approach the end of the COR!! series, I am starting to think about the next comic to cover. I’ll probably go for Shiver and Shake. Time permitting, I hope to start the new series early in the Autumn.

I was hoping you'd go for Shiver and Shake next!
(I hope Monster Fun is on the cards, too.)

I support your possible covering of Shiver & Shake mostly so I can finally find out just what Grimly Feendish's appearances there entailed and because I love anything Horror (Fleetway Street has already partially covered it though (
http://www.toonhound.com/shiverandshake.htm), they've gone into about half the strips - curiously neither Shiver nor Shake are among that number - is Fleetway Street still being updated?).
I'd be interested in your entry for Scream Inn - random Scream Inn fact: the goo monster who was a semi-regular one of 'The Lads' name was Gilbert (he wasn't part of the Spooktacular 7, though I thought he'd've made a better member than the Spider, i suppose because he was harder to draw?)
