That's not going to happen. Best we can hope for is Desperate Dan in the weekly Beano.

On Facebook they're saying "the format and technology have let us down", and that they're going to take a break, but not that it's over entirely.

A shame, but not at all unexpected.

It now says on that Twitter page that "It now appears that those scurrilous rumours of the Dandy's death may have been exaggerated." Not too sure exactly what that means, but it seems the comic may not be going yet.

EDIT - UPDATE:

Quote from The Dandy Facebook page:

A DC Thomson spokesperson said, "The Digital Dandy team has worked hard to produce an interactive and engaging App. While the digital comic has delivered its promised mixture of daft, dramatic and different stories, the technology and format have let us down.

"For this reason, we're suspending the existing App. Discussions and planning are already underway to re-examine The Dandy’s digital offerings. It is still too early to announce what form this next stage will take but we would like to reassure readers that The Dandy remains a very important part of the company’s plans for the future."

I was replying specifically to the last sentence.
It would be nice if the characters were picked up by the new Dennis Megazine.
Surely the comic's title implies that only Dennis characters will appear? The press release for it gives the same impression.

It says "Max Out your Menace Skills", "Exclusive Menace Missions", "Celebrity Menace" and "What's Hot? Dennis' Hotlists" plus the free 32 page story from Dennis' comic stash. Your point being? :?

Yeah, every one of those references Dennis in some way.

I think his point is:
free 32 page story from Dennis' comic stash

Sounds like reprinting stories Dennis has stashed away, not Dennis himself.

What makes you think that? There's quite a precedent for UK comics named after one character to feature more, from Ally Sloper's Half Holiday, Harold Hare's Weekly, Cheeky Weekly, and the Judge Dredd Megazine to mention just a few.

You know, when I was a reader, time was when contributors gave clues as to a forthcoming comic's content, the reader would accept it, not obstinately stick to his own theories.

Every month, not every week, Peter. the D&G Megazine is out every four weeks.

Aye, I'm also hoping it'll be a comic from Dennis' Dad's stash... :)
