Hullo a'body!
44 year old Scot fae Angus but born in Dundee the hame of comics.
Spent so much pocket money on comics when I was a laddie. When I was 21 and moving out I Chucked out 90% of my comics but is till have a fiar few left - I'll list them sometime in case any are interesting /rare.
Was always buying annuals at school jumble sales and getting all the DC Thomson ones at Christmas. (my uncle was a lithographers at DC so we got a very good deal on them!) I've kept all of them, the second hand ones are pretty knackered though
Stopped getting them in 1992 - Apart from oor wullie/ broons which I've been getting faithfully ever since.
My favourite comic was undoubtedly Oink! - I deliberately kept all my issues of them (even though most of them are wrecked!)
The last few years I've always been scouring charity shops for various other things I collect (game books and lego) which allowed me to have a complete run of oor wullie/broons from 1959 onwards-doubt I'll find earlier without paying a fortune!
Been going regularly to errol car boot sale a lot the last couple of years and they almost always have a few fleetway annuals that I didn't have. Fleetway annuals were always scarce at jumble sales when I was wee! I snap them up if they're not too expensive.
Again, I might list my annuals as well sometime just to see how I'm doing compared to all you folk.
Thanks for reading
Steven
