Bit late commenting I know , but wow what a price on that Beano no.1? Sure the comic is a bit nibbled in places but it's pretty rare to see both flyers and free gift present. Buyer with deep pockets.

Agreed,it's the highest price Beano 1 has ever sold for.

Perhaps the 4 grand difference was fees.

It was. It cost the buyer over £30k but the sale price was £26k

Amazing to think a No.1 even with those flaws reached such a price. Imagine one day if another comes onto the market with free gift might top £50k.

I think current fees are 15% plus VAT. So a £26,000 price would add £3,900 plus £780 VAT. I like doing these calculations in my head when watching antiques shows just to keep my mind sharp.
