Just a quick good bye to comics uk website I have been a member with several names for many years , the main reason being that I’m getting old had a few serious health concerns which fortunately I’m mostly recovered from, so I have in the past few years got fid of 95% of my British comics I have just kept several hundred picture library comics [ non war titles] and sold 70% of my American comics also to save my family the problem. I still have a very large collection of graphic novels and the only comics I still buy if the deal is good are silver and early Bronze Age American comics mostly DC and the odd marvel plus CGC slabed comics , Fortunately my son collects American comics so these will pass onto him. There is still one British comic I’m still looking to obtain and that is Super Dc issue 13 from the late 60s I missed out on a rough copy on eBay recently never mind. Im just glad I lived through what I consider to be the golden age of British comics the late 50s through the 60s to the early 70s It was great fun going into a newsagents with ±numerous comics and spinner racks of American comics to spend your pocket money on each week. When my granddaughter was little I used to by her comics each week she was not interested in the comic that ended up in the recycle bin all she wanted was just the toy given with each week, how things have changed .

Dear Captain,

What a beautiful goodbye said with sincerity and style from a Comics UK legend.
I haven't been here for as long as you but I have enjoyed reading your posts and your sense of humour that prevails throughout them.
As you sail off to new adventures I wish you good health and good luck Sir.
All the best and Cheers

Ian

I'm 70 now and slowly selling off my collection through an auction house, I gave up on ebay last April due to the unfathomable "Simple Delivery". I too need one issue of Super DC but thought it was issue 14 but it could be 13. I'll keep some titles, my Power comics, TV Comics and Mad magazines which I've always had a soft spot for. I have hundreds of true western magazines which I'll never sell.
