Hi Steve,
I loved your work on Minnie..but I was really impressed by the range of work on show in your website - very impressive. My favourites though, were the Vikings and the Stone-Age Men character sketches - lovely stuff.

Steve - I reckon that if you prefer the doodles to the carefully pencilled -then inked Cartoons then it is perfectly possible that the Doodles are better. If you are less relaxed when working on actual 'Cartoons' rather than doodles it will affect the finished work.

That takes me back..I was delighted to work on Strip for a week or three, drawing 'Combat Wombat' by Steve White for Issue 13, I think. I didnt like the colouring much though. The magazine did reprint some fine Euro-strips including STORM of course.

I think that Fun-size Beano has been totally reprint since November 2006, or at least that was what I was told. Sorry, I can offer no help at all...but thanks for the "blast of nostalgia" I got from seeing the work of the Artist from the Lady Penelope Annual.
My sister had a Lady Penelope Annual..that explains my recognition of the style..and the alien but it is a different story that I remember.
