A very quiet time currently on the comic buying front. My only purchases over the last week and a bit have been:

School Fun #1 wfg - IPC - 1983
Action Force #1 - Marvel - 1987
Mandy Picture Story Library #1 - DCT - 1978
Not UK comics but I love the TV series so I picked up 23 The Walking Dead graphic novels for £30 on Gumtree
2000AD Sci Fi Special 1996 - just 2 more to go
Western Fighters #1 - Streamline - 1951
Arrivals today and Saturday include 26 Football PSMs, a copy of Valentine and Roxy from 1963, my Commando subscription and 264 various Battle and War PLs.

I also managed to buy the first 22 Mad Magazines by Strato from 1959 and Issues #2-7 of Frogman Comics by T&P from 1952 (even though the GCD says there were only 5 issues). They will go well with the #1 that I picked up a year ago!
I had a good day yesterday as I had 28 1940s Wizards delivered. Shame that I only needed 9 of them for the collection!
I also bought 3 Lucky Charms to increase my collection by 300%. I am not going to do that often am I?
And yesterday I completed a grailquest that I have been carrying out for the last 30 years and that was to purchase a piece of original art by the late great Jim Baikie. So I have now paid for and I am awaiting the delivery of a page from ChiPs that appeared in Look-In way back in issue 27 dated 30 June 1979.

I did pass Maths at 'O' level with 50%, Col, so unless my error is in the other 50%, I can't see how 3 issues of Lucky Charm from an absolute total of 30 possibles, can get anywhere near 300%, given that the full run would surely be only 100%. The three you bought can only be 10% of the total possible. If I'm wrong, it's no wonder I only obtained 50% at age 16.
stevezodiac wrote:If he had one issue and then bought three more would that not be a 300% increase?
How do I know, Steve? I would have said that it was a 75% increase, but numbers are not my forte. Words are. Hopefully, some of our members are mathematicians, and may be willing to steer us along the right path towards certainty. My 50% at 'O' level was only 5% above the pass mark, and given the way the marking system worked, it may only have been 3%, as the marks the pupils received were always in fives. We never found out therefore what our actual marks were.
