FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
To celebrate Euro 2024......
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
I can't believe that nobody has voted for Roy of the Rovers yet.
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?

I have hundreds of Shoots but Scorcher and Score 'n' Roar are my favourites. Latter didn't last long enough though. Dropped the "two comics in one" format too quickly.
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
I voted "Shoot",was my personal fave.
TBH the poll was off the cuff and not thought out ,"Scorcher" certainly should have been an option.
Anyway,I hope that all of you are enjoying the Euros as much as I am, despite England not firing on all cylinders at the moment.
I predict that despite such,England will improve and at the very least make it to the quarter finals.

Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
England need Roy Race upfront and Bernard Briggs in goal
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
And Judge Dredd as manager?
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
I'm putting Billy The Fish in goal
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
And Batman (The Jean Paul Valley version) as manager
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
I've been since last year buying "Score N Roar" and thoroughly enjoying it - both for some ace picture strips with fantastic artwork, plus some great articles and features on football back then (before money spoiled it all).
Collecting "Football League Reviews" has been my main focus (they capture the 60s and 70s worlds so well), but SNR is picking up my collecting interests.
Have hardly been bothering following this Euro 24 - I think most of the games themselves have been dour and boring not just England's. Too many prima donnas and VAR in todays football. The women's game is far more entertaining as well.
I prefer to catch "The Big Match/Match Time Revisited" on ITV4 when I've got a Saturday morning free. My Big Match DVDs provide me if I need a football fix.

I have hundreds of League Reviews, very thin but lots of reading.
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
From the original list, I would have voted for Tiger although have to agree, I would have added others including Scorcher, Score 'n' Roar, Striker, Gary Lineker's Hot-Shot! and Football Picture Story Monthly.
Boy's Own? Definitely not a football comic surely? Then again neither was really Tiger.

OK.
I may have been drinking.
I personally liked "Shoot".
Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
Still a fun poll.
I consider Shoot! as THE football magazine. Never got it myself as it wasn't a comic nor am I a football fan. But I remember my brother did.

Re: FAVOURITE FOOTBALL COMIC/MAGAZINE?
I’ve read them all, but Shoot was my football mag of choice as a nipper. I read RotR for a while but I found it became more like a soap opera after a while.
