Advert for Misty No.1

Discuss all the girls comics that have appeared over the years. Excellent titles like Bunty, Misty, Spellbound, Tammy and June, amongst many others, can all be remembered here.

 That on sale date is exactly 6 years before I was born!

By the way, I can see Gus's Gags on the reverse side... paper's too thin. Glad they use better paper in modern comics.

Did that blue fish bracelet genuinely shimmer?

70s Knockout was the worst one for the next page showing through. The comic where you didn't have to turn over the page to read the next story.

I only need 5 Knockouts to complete my Collection of 107 and everyone of them you can see through, I suppose it adds to the charm of them.

As the for the bracelet I have no idea, You often see No.1 for sale on ebay with the bracelet going for around £50 - £60.

Where I live, I remember seeing a commercial about Misty on television.

I remember the TV commercial too, I think it was an animated Misty sitting by the Pool of Life.

I love misty. Love the stories by Maria Barrera too, her drawings are exceptional!

That's interesting as she doesn't seem to be credited on the old Misty website. Do you know any of the stories she drew for IPC Ruth - or can you show any examples of her work so we can try to track them down?

That cover, for example, at least is someone "copying" her style but since I have all misty numbers, I could lookk at them. Starting, anyway with that first number, Nightmare is definetley hers.

The Bitter Tale of Sweet Lucy is Maria Barrera's too.

Sorry if I am putting them one by one, but I am eating and looking at the comics so everytime I find one I come here.
I found too some stories by Hernandez, Jordi Franch and Jordi Badia, Feijoo and many others I so like!

How about 'Voices in the Wind' (Misty no.42) and 'The Shop at Crooked Corner' (Misty no.14)? I love learning to spot a new artist - it's a shame that nobody seems to be updating the Misty website anymore.

'Paint it Black' is supposed to be by Brian Delaney.
