Foreign Comics.....

Anyone have any foreign comics? Above is one of mine, Monster Allergy no5, an Italian comic.

I picked up a couple of Foreign comics when I was working in Switzerland last year (think they are french comics) I was expecting to see rows and rows of them in the Newsagents, but in reality it was sparser than UK (and I went to about 5 shops - couild have been the type of shops I cvisited allt he same) - Picked up a nice Kid Paddle books lovley art (has a great websitre as well) and a nice Disney comic with Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge art an what looked like some new stuff. My girlfriend (bless her she was mortified) brought me back 3 comics from protugal that were excellent I'll try can them later.

I have numerous comics from various countries: Japan, China, Italy, France, Norway, etc. It's interesting how different countries have their own format; the Japanese with huge 500 page weeklies, or the French with slick anthologies. (Since its revamp, The Dandy looks closer to a European comic than a traditional UK title).

In many of these countries comics are well distributed and numerous. In Norway there are kiosks with window displays of comics; racks of comics at the airport; in supermarkets etc. It's great seeing a title you've worked on displayed so prominently, unlike in the UK where we often have to rummage through the bottom shelf to find a particular comic, - if they have it, and then it's probably racked back to front!
