aye right 'Ultron think yer a funny man dae ya?!! :D

As I've said since the start England will win the section. You will easily beat Slovenia (3-0) and top the section , then it's probably an easy last 16 game (although it could be Germany) and if u get through that you will play the winners of Uruguay and South Korea - not that easy, especially if its Uruguay as they look handy, but the best chance you will ever get.

I agree Mexico 1970 was the best - Brazil were amazing.

Need to go now I have to check if I have any Slovenian relatives!

1970 World cup was my favourite as well.

I collected this soccer star album and got my dad to buy his petrol at ESSO stations so I could collect the coins and I still have them. :P

Arrhhhh the good old days when I had nothing to worry about expect hoping my dad would get me the Paul Madeley coin the one I needed for weeks, I got it in the end though.

Starboy glad you have so much faith in England(more then I do) and it will be all this fuss for nothing, and they will top the league at the end.Image

Oh excellent thanks for posting that, I vividley remember collecting those coins as a kid at petrol stations. I had them all except for 2; Ian Storey Moore (who if I recall didn't make the 1970 squad) and Brian Labone (who I just don't recal playing) - I eventually got the Ian Storey Moore coin the day after the collection was withdrawn but by that time I had lost interest . But I loved collecting that set - I dont think I had that Blue display kit you have (but as I look at it I may have got it later on form the garage after the WC had finished) but I remeber I had a cardboard (red) version that was given free (if I recall correctly) it was very flimsy. I also remember the World Cup cards (still got a couple left) that Topps produced for the 1970 World Cup took me ages to get them,I loved collecting football card (so much better than these stickers the kids have now imho) but for some reason got rid of them about 10 years ago (had loads :x )

Yeah you will win no bother you're just nervous your to good a team this recent hassle" will really get the teams dander up.

Au revoir, France. Wasn't expecting that before the tournament began.

It might not be the best football anthem ever written but, whether England win or lose today, we can at least draw some consolation from this song's refrain:

And we thought England had troubles.

Starboy this is the one you had, I think it was given free and you had to buy the Blue card one.

"You Paul Madeley caused me so much pain trying to collect you in 1970, but what joy when I got the compleate collection.

That's why Labones name was familuar it must have been the first one you got - I think now it was also Paul Madeley that I didn't get (with Storey Moore) until after the World Cup - thanks for showing the red display thats the one I was thinking about and the one I had excellent stuff - great times/fun- enjoy your game today it'll be a stroll in the park for you .

1-0, and USA got the same scoreline, so we knocked Slovenia out. :)

Congratulations on getting to the last 16 - feel a bit sorry for Slovenia losing out in the 91st minute to the USA goal , but happy for USA also - must admit I don't usually bother with England games but looking forward to the Germany match on Sunday 2 very equally matched teams imho its gonna be a nail bitter for you all - I still think you will get to the last 8 though.

Hopefully they'll be more motivated now, since Germany are an old enemy.

I agree with that Digi! Had we faced Ghana-there's a chance we'd do another `Algeria` I actually favour facing the `big-boys` as I think they will rise for it as in 1990.

If you hope to win the thing you have to meet the tougher teams sometime!

Me cousin has bet on (the sod!) an all South American final, which would be the first since 1950!

Now! on `World Cup Songs` anyone recall 1966's? the song for the English team I mean! My god it was CACK!! Only sold about 15 copies to people either too drunk to care or with far more money than sense! The picture sleeve edition fetches £50 -100 now!
A Face unclouded by thought.
