In today's (repeat) episode of Homes Under The Hammer, one of the presenters was looking round a property that was up for auction. The house in question appeared to have been vacated without being cleared, and there was loads of trash all over the place. Atop one pile of detritus an issue of Bunty could be seen. A quick look at Wikipedia suggests that publication of Bunty ceased in 2001, and as the TV programme was dated 2009, it seems that this Bunty had been hanging around for a number of years.

Cheers for the link, Digi - I followed it and took a photo off my monitor. Looks like there's another comic underneath Bunty, possibly another Bunty I s'pose.

Looks like Warlord at the start of this 1983 Dramarama: Spooky clip, but what's the title below? A UK Marvel monthly or special?

More like an anthology of some type as it is thicker than the standard Summer Special. Could it be MWOM?

I've found the Warlord.

WARLORD - Issue - 386 - 13th February 1982

I don't recognise the logo of the comic underneath...I'm not sure it's either Marvel or DC, they both usually had their logo's (or the Marvel faces of whatever heroes were in it) in the top left

I wondered if that title was HULK, too. Something the size of one those glossy, 52-page Rampage monthlies or Summer or Winter specials Marvel UK used to do.

A search on 1981 and 1982 comics on ebay has led me to this listing...a look at the logo (it's an A, L and L, with that indentation at the top of the A) makes me pretty sure that this is the comic. I've never actually heard of "All War Monthly", and this is the only issue on ebay, so i don't know which issue it actually is.

cover from that listing (copied to my photobucket)

Not an actual comic, but a contestant on a Blockbusters repeat on Challenge last night had a Dennis the Menace doll as a mascot. :)

Well done! A fairly obscure title has been uncovered.

The 30th Century Comics website mentions: "All-War Monthly, a 1981 never-heard-of-before war comic which seems, on current evidence, to have managed one issue and two Summer/Holiday Specials – one of which predated the series' own debut(?)" though another seller elsewhere is selling All-War Monthly issue 5.

Maybe that's one of the specials on the desk.

well, that issue i've posted a cover of is Issue 5 (and the seller on the ebay listing says he's selling issue 2 with it).

There's very little trace of it online...a search on amazon reveals someone selling one of the holiday specials (the 1981 summer special)..and it's not that one. It also has the following info about the publication

Publisher: ATLANTIC PUBLISHING
Date of Publication: 1981
Binding: comic
Edition: First Printing
Condition: Very Good/No Jacket as Issued
Description: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall COMIC Magazine format UK comic. Black and white comic strip art. Moderate wear/creasing on covers. Slight staining on last page and inside of back cover. Comic Grade: Fine. Stories are: The Rebel, The Defender, Face of Courage, The Immortals.

That's a nice find, but not the comic in question as it can be seen that the comic in the snapshot says Thrill to the dea or is it dem? Whereas All-War Monthly says There's nothing tougher than... However, I do like the cover of All-War. Very nice.

It's not the correct issue, but i'm pretty sure it is the correct comic (the logo matches perfectly). Unfortunatly there's almost nothing about the comic online, so I haven't been able to find the covers of any other issues.
