Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?

Nibblers and Three Bears are three pages each and James is four. That's 10 pages without the single page Billy Whizz.
Pay attention to the speech bubbles. Bash Street Dogs (which is five pages) and the second James strip both use block caps. Those two, plus the single page Billy Whizz, are the replacements.

If you have missed celebs in the Dandy they are back in this week's issue (3570) with a double page new strip by NP called Celeb School

Thanks for the news... Swirlythingy won't be pleased that he now needs to put the celeb strip Xs back on his Obsessive Statistics graph!

Thanks for the info Hornet. Unfortunately I think there's quite a few people who won't be too happy to hear about the return of the slebs to the pages of the Dandy (I'm afraid to say I include myself in this - I'd far rather see the Dandy's own characters).
On a brighter note, at least it does answer the 'what will NP do next' question that we've been asking ever since Harry Hill ended.

Give the strip a chance everyone. It's hard to judge something that hasn't appeared yet.

Both him and Chris McGhie seem to be suffering serious typecasting problems. I'd love to see some original characters for a change. The Dandy's got all this talent - why squander it on slebs? The Hornet wrote:If you have missed celebs in the Dandy they are back in this week's issue (3570) with a double page new strip by NP called Celeb School

Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
Am I the only one who actually likes the celeb stories, I loved Harry hill & the likes of little Simon cowell, ant & dec etc.maybe it's me showing my age as these stories remind me a bit of the like of tv comic from when I was young not to mention the excellent art.
Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
I certainly did and was surprised that when Harry went, so did everything else.
Don't get me wrong, I did like Harry Hill but I did feel he had too a big a presence (especially at the beginning) though I can understand why.
So even with Harry gone, I would have liked the other strips to have stayed.

Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).

I also read (and loved) TV Comic, but where's the similarity? TV Comic was top cartoon stars of the day like Pink Panther, Roobarb, Popeye, Bugs Bunny etc, plus some serials like Dr Who and Tarzan, and then the odd strip like TV Terrors and Nelly and Her Telly which was telly-related without being licensed characters.big bad bri wrote:these stories remind me a bit of the like of tv comic from when I was young
I really don't see how any of these three types of strip are anything like Little Simon Cowell and its ilk.

The similarity I meant being characters you saw on tv every week was like that of tv comic or maybe i should have said it reminded me more of tv tops & look in,& that had more types of stories based on real people of the day not just cartoons like Tom & Jerry.

Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
I think it's quite reminiscent of film fun and radio fun with strips featuring famous slebs from back then.
So much for not having a celebrity strip.
The latest issue came through the post. Apart from Cuddles & Dimples, there's a new strip - Celeb School starring the "Little..."s.
I like it.

The Cuddles and Dimples is the first one Nigel drew...as the free gift in the new look Dandy was a tongue!!...when the Dandy went glossy..
Re: Celebrity Dandy - do you miss it?
So it is. Though have you noticed that the captions have been re-written?
