Comics International #202?

Post by PaulTwist »

Does anyone know what's happening with Comics International? I've got the first Cosmic/Mike Conroy issue but that was back in March or April... is there another issue due soon? I hope they can get back onto a monthly schedule.

Anyone know? Or is this beginning of the end?

WH Smiths still sells Classics from the Comics in Glasgow, as does Borders.

Chris

PS yeah, I've got serious concerns over CI. Hope it makes it.

Yep, it's still published on the last Friday of the month. Only one shop here stocks it though, so I'm thinking about subscribing.

My local WH Smith (Wigan) used to get quite a few copies every month; this month they appeared to only have one, unless it sold quite a few in its first couple of days on sale. I hope it's not on its last legs.

Ah, that's good news! I'll pick up a copy next time I'm in a comic shop.

Picked up my copy of CI on Saturday - not exactly worth the wait for me, and not to impressed with what seems to be a last minute change of cover to a "paid for advertising" cover (but well done to the sdvertising team but I dont see it getting new readers - Mobile phone comics???) Not sure its really worth ?2.99 to be honest or maybe it just hasnt got articles which interet me this month but somethong about it isn't "right" with me- still its the only option out there intheUK - I just hope it gets back on schedule - One thing that was very sad to read was the amount of comic legends in the obituary section - among them the great Bob Oskner, Jack Burnely, Joe Edwards (an Archie comics legend) and Marshall Rogers (great 1970s Batman artist at only 57) plus, even sadder, the guy the created Poison Elves(apologies for forgetting his name) at the ridiculously young age of about 38 very sad (and apolgies if I got any names wrong)

I prefer some of the more in depth articles they are running now but the ?news? is becoming more and more ?old? in this internet age.
