British comics in Greek magazines

Seem to remember Eric Bradbury drawing Bala the Briton.

Re: British comics in Greek magazines
Eric Bradbury was busy drawing Von Hoffman's Invasion for Jet. Bala the Briton looks like Felix Carrion's work to me.
Re: British comics in Greek magazines
Quite willing to be called wrong on this. Maybe I'm remembering an annual appearance of Bala.

I think Bradbury did a lot of the Jet covers, including those featuring Bala, perhaps that's it.
Re: British comics in Greek magazines
The Victor strip is "Speed Kings" which ran from no.1385 5th September 87 to no.1394 7th November 87. It is a reprint from the early issues of Scoop.
Re: British comics in Greek magazines
Chris, there is a small puzzle here, and I hope that you (or anyone else in the forum) can help me short it out.
The comic strip you mentioned must be "Speed Kings" is this one. I 'm posting two pages so that there 's no mistake. The Victor tag is not visible here but is so on episode two.
However, there 's another strip, formula racing this time around, with the Scoop tag, having the usual tricky antagonists (this time on the same team as the main characters), and its greek title is "Speed Kings"! Can you help me figure this out?

Re: British comics in Greek magazines
Hi ramirez, they are both the same strip. The second example is from later in the run when they had taken up Grand Prix racing.
Re: British comics in Greek magazines
Now I get it. I hadn 't noticed they were the same characters. You see, they printed the formula part first in the Agori anthology, and three years later they printed the first part of the story.
I read somewhere that John Cooper had contributed to the strip. Is that why the formula part of the story has a different art style?

OK, last questions to complete the index of the "Agori" anthology (of at least what I was able to find).
This strip is titled "I travelled with Morgan the pirate" and seems to be drawn by Jim Bleach. Can you confirm it 's him and which magazine it came from?
This story is titled "The president 's man" and lasted only a few episodes. It 's probably from 2000AD or Eagle, but I haven 't been able to identify it.
The last strip is called "Wheel giants" and again is probably from 2000AD or Eagle (more likely Eagle). I hope you can help...

Wheel Giants was originally called 'Road Blasters' and ran in the new Eagle from 7/5/98 (issue 320) to 24/12/98 (issue #353) and was a tie in to a line of toys made by Matchbox. Art was (mainly) by Carmona.

One down, two to go. If it 's any help, the "President 's man" strip has the main character undergo challenges taken from known movies, one of which was the classic scene from the film "A man called horse", where Richard Harris' character was being (sort of) suspended by hooks grappled onto his body. I hope this might seem familiar.
Any thoughts on the "Pirate Morgan" strip? Perhaps I should upload a couple more pages if it would help...

Re: British comics in Greek magazines
"President 's man" has been identified to be "Universal soldier" from 1987 era 2000AD. Script by Alan McKenzie, art by Will Simpson.
Re: British comics in Greek magazines
The 'Pirate Morgan' strip comes from the Hotspur.
