It features all the One-Eyed Jack stories from Valiant, up to and including the final issue. No Battle stories though so perhaps they'll be in a later volume. The book will be out on 15th June at £14.99.wilsia wrote:Excellent news, mines on order.

Did Eagle mark 2 reprint the one eyed jack valiant stories or Battle ones or both ?
Re: Rebellion reveal their plans for classic Fleetway charac
It's a couple of decades since I read the stories, but from memory Eagle reprinted all weekly episodes. I do recall that some of the language and artwork was censored.big bad bri wrote:Did Eagle mark 2 reprint the one eyed jack valiant stories or Battle ones or both ?

Wonder which character? Adam Eterno would be the obvious but he is owned by IPC. Still, I'd be all over that. When I reprinted the Leopard from Lime Street, Adam was the other choice (but IPC wanted a huge amount of money).
Black Max seems the only other choice, unless there is mileage I can't see in the Steel Commando.

Black Max would be my first choice as a Thunder reprint. I think it stands up better than some Eterno strips, but both can hopefully be republished eventually.
I had every issue of Thunder when they were published but sold them in the 1980s. I still have one or two I think.

The Marney the Fox cover looks even better with the logo added:

That's one title I'll definitely be buying! The news that there is now a Judge Dredd TV series in preparation also raises the intriguing prospect of some of these old Fleetway properties being developed for the big or little screen in the same way. I wonder which would work best: Marney, Adam Eterno, One-Eyed Jack - or maybe a series from one of the Girls' comics like Misty, Tammy or Jinty...?

Whichever ones that could be done for a modest budget, I'd imagine.philcom55 wrote:That's one title I'll definitely be buying! Billy's Boots would be fairly cheap to do I'd think, and would make a good children's TV series.philcom55 wrote:....Hmmm! Mr Evans the Talking Rabbit perhaps?
