Steve Penny from Pure Nostalgia - unable to contact him

Post by comicmad »

In my 38 years of collecting comics I have never had any trouble with comic dealers, until now.

During May and early June I corresponded by email with Steve Penny of Pure Nostalgia who is a comic dealer. His website address is www.purenostalgia.co.uk

I placed an order for 6 comics from this dealer and sent payment of £13.20 which went through on 13th June. After more than 6 weeks I still haven't received the comics. Since my payment I have had no contact from this person and have been unable to re-establish contact with him since. I have sent several emails requesting an update on my order and not had a reply to any of them. I tried phoning the number on the Pure Nostalgia website but it seems to be always on answer message. I left a message with my number and asked them to call back, which they never did.

I'd be interested to know if anyone here has had recent contact with Steve Penny or dealt with him in the past.

Well, if someone can contact him, maybe we can get this fixed:

Every instance of DC Thomson on the site spells it with the extra P. Not much hope of it though, going by the front page, it looks like the website's last update was two years ago.

He had a big stand at the comic fair last December in the Royal National, and I did also speak to him on the phone a couple of times earlier this year. I just don't see a dealer like that deliberately cheating any customer. He's surely not going to forfeit his reputation for a mere £13. That just wouldn't make any sense.
