Aye, nothing would tempt me to hand over money for The Mail, but this is a really good promotional opportunity for The Beano. I hope a few of the readers find time to buy a subscription for their grandkids.Phoenix wrote:I'll have to give this one a miss, I'm afraid. I get the heebie-jeebies whenever I'm in the vicinity of the Mail, whether it's on Sunday or any other day of the week.
Why not, Phil? We have free speech in this country, and we are not using it to be disparaging about any individuals. We also have freedom of choice. Some of the people who buy the Mail might only be interested in the football reports, others may fancy doing the crosswords, or whatever other puzzles there might be.philcom55 wrote:I know there are one or two Daily Mail readers amongst us so maybe we shouldn't be too openly disparaging about it, wherever our own political sympathies might lie.
Oddly enough today's front page is screaming for the dismissal of Tory Culture Secretary Maria Miller (someone who, in my opinion, bears an unfortunate resemblance to the appalling, pink-suited Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films!).ISPYSHHHGUY wrote:I think the news items are well-reported in the Mail, and there is loads to read in it: it's hysterical front-page propaganda [Spongers with 22 kids fleecing taxpayer] is a real turn-off though.
