A request for information on Mandy comics.

My request is for the story titles, the issue number of their first instalment and/or the issue number of the last instalment of any serials that started or ended during the following run of Mandy. This is 462 - 467 (1975) and 468 - 488 (1976). I would appreciate any help from members who have any of these issues in their collection.

Phoenix: I reccomend the late 60s/early 70s Mandy comics: I used to read these at the time after my [female!] cousin finished reading them; a story called Valda especially sticks in my mind---dunno what the asking prices are on e-bay for this particular era, though......

Thank you, peace, for that information. I'll spend some time tomorrow working it into my notes. I notice that you posted it all a week ago so I must apologise for my delayed reply. I've been in London for the last eight days with no access to comics uk, and not a lot of time either as I've been looking after my three-year-old granddaughter to take some pressure off her mother. She's a livewire but with a real interest in fictional princesses and My Little Pony. She did her best to explain to me who they all were, and I'm sure she expects me to know, by the time I see her again in three weeks, the difference between Rainbowdash and Pinkie Pie, and Princess Celestia and Fluttershy!!!!! I can hear her already, ' Oh, Grandad, that isn't Fluttershy, that's Applejack!'' I don't know how many characters there are but there do seem to be an awful lot of them.

I was planning on going to the British Library yesterday to complete my notes on all the issues of Mandy that I don't yet have but an electrical fault in my son's flat put paid to that. I volunteered to wait in for the electrician so that my son didn't have to take any time off work, and when he'd gone about half twelve I just didn't think I'd get enough done to justify the effort and the expense of the return ticket to St. Pancras on the underground.

Rab, I agree with you on the quality of the serials up to the mid-seventies. Fortunately I don't need to concern myself with the going rate on eBay because I only need four issues between issue 1 in 1967 and the last one of 1974, plus eight in 1975. Between the beginning of 1976 and its demise in 1991 I need only 97 more. Let's hope that there aren't any of those missing from their bound volumes!
